View, Add, and Remove / Delete CastleVille Neighbors - Updated!

Update 3 (2/24/12): Customer Support at Zynga can manually remove neighbors for you, we have confirmed.  They can take neighbors off of a Royal Crew position and leave you with an empty slot.  Contact Zynga CastleVille support at  this link.

Update 2 (2/18/12):  We finally have an official comment from Zynga that they're working on a solution to remove neighbors:

"We are aware that some players have abusive neighbors that exploit resources for thier gain. We are working to install a feature that can remove these kind of nuisance in the game on our end. Rest assured that this will be available as soon as possible. Again, thank you for your patience and understanding."

Update:  As of now (Feb. 2012) this no longer works.  The neighbors page doesn't load at all.  To remove a neighbor now, you need to unfriend the person on Facebook.  It may take a day or so for the game servers to be updated but then the person will no longer be able to visit you.  We're actively investigating alternatives and will update you as soon as we know more.

Do you have neighbors who don't actively play any longer, or who damage things when they visit?  You might want to remove neighbors to prevent them from visiting you, and to make room to add neighbors.  It's not easy to find, but there is a CastleVille Neighbors page where you can delete neighbors and more.  Click the following link, or cut & paste it into your browser:

It shows all of your neighbors, and then lists all your Facebook friends who play CastleVille but aren't neighbors yet.  You can click to remove neighbors you don't want.  And you can click on other friends to add neighbors.  For each friend it displays their Level and Reputation, to help give you an idea of how active they are.  Beware of relying too heavily on those numbers though - they may be out of date by a few days.  And they don't tell you how recently your friends achieved those totals, so they may include people who played actively for a while and then stopped.

The Remove Neighbor button will help you to un-clutter the Visit Neighbors bar at the bottom of your screen.  Removing a neighbor also prevents that person from visiting your kingdom, so it enables you to get rid of any uncooperative neighbors who don't respect your "Keep Off" signs.

Warning: If the neighbor is on the Crew for one of your royal buildings, however, Remove as Neighbor does not remove them from your crew.  This is problematic, since it prevents them from visiting you to tend the building.  We hope that Zynga will remedy that issue in the near future.
